Services Combustion Analysis

  • Combustion Analysis

Combustion analysis is the most accurate method specifically for determining the presence of Carbon and Sulfur in Steel , Cast Iron , alloys and other non-ferrous metals Combustion analysis is utilized at as a referee method when controversial results from the other techniques are noted.

Combustion analysis can be performed for determining the Carbon Content which is necessary for determining weldability. Sulfur Content is necessary for determining the cleanliness of steel and its machinability.

Some of the ASTM standards utilized at AEIS for performing Combustion analysis are ASTM E-395, E-350.

E 350 Standard Test methods for Chemical Analysis of Carbon Steel, Low _Alloy Steel, Silicon Electrical Steel, Ingot Iron and Wrought Iron
E-395 Standard Test Method for Determination of Total Sulfur In Iron Ores and Related Materials by Combustion-Iodate Titration
