Most Construction Codes require certified NDT Level II Inspectors as per SNT-TC-1A to perform non-destructive testing. Have you tried to get personnel certified in NDT and Welding Inspection without losing two weeks of billable time associated with training personnel? Now, for the first time in the metro area, AEIS has initiated a Flexible NDT Training Program (ndtFlexTrain™). The program is designed to provide training to prospective NDT personnel on weekends in New York Metropolitan Area. This means no downtime or any expensive travel/ hotel costs. The program lasts from two to five Saturdays depending on the NDT Method and Level of Certification.

AEIS has a large number of flaw samples to practice and comprehend the probable location of flaws. A large inventory of equipment enables students to become confident with the techniques being taught. We utilize audio visual programs, including streaming videos and flash files, to ensure complete understanding of the underlying principles and practices. Keeping the classroom size small, interaction with experienced Level III faculty enhances the overall learning process.

As in any discipline, attending a training course and passing a certification examination may not be enough. It is essential that the candidate is able to use the skills on the job. Our training sessions are very interactive. All participants are encouraged to bring their job related problems to these sessions for technical discussion.

Our course objectives are:

- Meeting the training requirements set forth in SNT-TC-1A/ NAS410 and employers’ written practice.
- Provide necessary skills for application on the job.

WELDING AND STRUCTURAL

AWS CWI EXAMINATION PREPARATORY COURSE (NDT401)

Who should attend?
This course is designed for the candidates wishing to attain the AWS Certified Welding Inspector credentials. This is ideal for inspectors, welders, supervisors, foremen, managers and engineers desiring to increase their knowledge regarding welding inspection and attain a globally recognized certification. As per AWS QC1, participants must have 5 plus year experience in welding related disciplines. This requirement is relaxed based on specific guidelines.

Why this course by AEIS?
The AWS CWI preparatory course by AEIS is held over eight (8) Saturdays. The 2 month schedule permits the participants to digest the enormous amount of information and apply the new knowledge in the field during the course of the training program. The aim is to ensure that all participants have a very high probability of passing the AWS-CWI exam. Throughout the sessions, practice quizzes are given to assess the comprehension of the training course and enhance the participants’ test taking skills. Participants practice on both real flaws in steel samples and flaws in plastic replicas as given in the CWI exam. The Practice CWI Exam on the last Saturday prepares the candidates for the actual exam.

What are the program highlights?

  • Code Clinic
  • Safe Practices related to welding and weld inspection
  • Metal Joining and Cutting Processes
  • Welding Terminology, Weld Joint Geometry and Welding Symbols
  • Documents Governing Welding Inspection and Qualification
